At September 29, 2009 in Brussels took place regular meeting of the Contact Group for Steel between Ukraine and European Union with participation of representatives of Government of Ukraine, metallurgy industry and their European colleagues. The Heads of Ukrainian delegation were Mr. Sergey Grishenko - deputy Minister of Industry and Mr. Dmytro Bilokurov - Chief Manager of Ukrainian association of ferrous metallurgy enterprises "UkrMet". The Heads of European delegation were Mrs. Madlen Tuninga - Deputy Director of Sector of General Directorate of Trade of Eurocommission and Mr. Karl Tachelet - Executive Manager of EUROFER.

They discussed the problems of metallurgy in both countries, relations between metallurgy enterprises, trade of metallurgy products, etc. Also were discussed such question as emission, REACH and free trade area.

Participants of meeting agreed about exchange of statistic information on production and export of metallurgy production.

Next meeting of the Contact Group for Steel between Ukraine and European Union will be in Kiev on May 2010.
